7/20-21/2018 - Albany and to Plattsburgh

Friday was a day without baseball for us. It was a day with baseball for these folks.

Hi Lina and Stephen and Tommy!

We are still chasing (and finding) waterfalls.

Todd and Ursa are playing.

The beautiful Ursa went swimming.

We stayed in the shade. Hi Christine and Scott! Thank you for your hospitality!

And we're off!

To the mountains!

We have arrived in Plattsburgh.

They want us to walk down that dirt road to go to the ballpark. Isn't this how horror films start?

We made it! We are here to see the Plattsburgh Redbirds play the New York Bucks. They are in the Empire Professional Baseball League, which is not affiliated with Major League Baseball.

Hey look! A ballfield!

The netting and the field.

This player was pitting one section's fans against the other to see who was louder.

Dave? David Letterman?

The PA announcer: "Hey kids! Bring the foul balls up to us and you'll get some CANDY! Want some candy?"

OMG!

Best hair

M-O-O-N

More netting and field

The lawn seats

This player's name is Dale Urquhart Jr. It was pronounced "Dale Earkhardt Jr." He is number 8. It was weird.

Stephanie loves a good submariner.

The visiting team's facilities. The home team had the same setup. There was nothing specific set up for the fans.

Home team dugout.

Us, there.

We left after the bottom of the 8th inning. We had been there for 3-1/2 hours at that point and had to get to our next destination. To say it was an agonizingly slow game would be accurate. Also, our departure lowered the attendance to 15 from a game high of 30.

Hey! Todd's company made the scoreboard!

Not-"Dale Earnhardt Jr" seemed to be pitching the 9th.

Driving through upstate NY on the way to Ottawa we saw lots of windmills. This picture was a fail but looked really arty. Enjoy!

This was less of a fail. Enjoy this one too!
